The cost of a trip depends on the standard — you can travel on a budget or more comfortably, with hotels and restaurants. You can also mix both effectively.

The most experiences came from my cheaper trips — often staying in hostels. It’s a great option, especially when traveling solo: you meet people and you’re not alone. And no — a hostel doesn’t always mean low standards. I’ve stayed in places with a pool, rooftop, garden, or events.

An alternative is apartments — more privacy and savings on food thanks to having your own kitchen.

In many places, it’s worth renting a car, especially on islands or when planning intensive sightseeing.
